Pet peeves...

OK, so one of my biggest pet peeves is litterbugs. Everyday I walk about 3 miles in my neighborhood. And everyday, I pick up at least one piece of trash someone else left behind. I have noticed that the areas where the trash always can be found are the "tourist hotspots." This makes me particularly mad because when you are visiting a place, you should be extra careful to respect it and thankful for their hospitality. At least, that is what I was brought up to believe...

I also abide by the old Girl Scout saying, "Always leave a place better than how you found it." So I always pick up trash when I see it, and have taught my kids to do the same. My daughter is obsessive about recycling and I love it! Whenever I go to throw something in the trash, she says, "Mom, are you sure you can't recycle that?" The recycling program here in Eureka Springs is great!

Ways to make money at home

One of my goals this year is to figure out how to make some money working from home. I have been a stay-at-home mom for over 6 years now and since the kids aren't babies anymore, I just feel like I should contribute more in the money department.

Many people are finding sites like Ebay to be very profitable, if they can find a niche market and items to buy cheap and sell for a profit. One neat tool I found that can definitely help in that area is a website called SpellingSearch.com

This website allows you to search for any item on Ebay and it will find misspelled or incorrectly listed items. It's obvious that if a seller misspells his item, he will get far fewer bids (if any) on that item and if it sells, it will sell for less than he wanted. Now, if you can snatch up these items for cheap when you find them, then resell them for the right price (spelled correctly of course!), you could potentially make quite a bit of profit. I consider it a "must see" if you use Ebay at all...
