Silver Dollar City at Christmas

I had heard from some neighbors that Silver Dollar City is the place to see Christmas lights around the holidays. Since we bought season passes for 2006 that will expire in a couple of days, we figured we better go one last time and check out all the decorations. We went last night since the weather was fairly mild.

Well, I guess we weren't the only ones trying to go one last time - the place was packed! We got there around 5:00pm and you could hardly walk around some areas in the park because there were so many people everywhere. We had the little one in a stroller too, which further complicates things. I must say, the lights were very nice. They light up absolutely everything in the park with millions of Christmas lights. Even the train has lights all over it. They had a light parade which was nice too.

My only problem with that park is the layout. It is really confusing and we get lost at least once every time we go. We have been there 5 times and I still don't think we've seen the whole park because there are parts we can't find! I wish they had wider walkways because it gets really jammed up when they are busy and there are no places to "pull off" out of the walking traffic. So people just stop in the middle of the walkway to talk or look at their map.

Overall, it is a neat place to go and the kids love it. But it is much more enjoyable on a very slow day (which is getting harder and harder to come by!).
