Super Size Me

I watched the documentary "Super Size Me" last night and it was a real eye-opener. We don't eat fast food that much anyway, but this movie really makes you want to stop fast food altogether. The filmmaker Morgan Spurlock puts his own health in serious jeopardy by eating only McDonald's food for 30 days. He starts off as a very healthy adult, and after only one week, he gains 10 pounds. After 30 days, he gained 25 pounds and did major damage to his liver. He felt bad the whole time and even had mood swings.

The movie also has lots of other facts about American obesity and the fast food epidemic. They covered the public school lunch program and the very serious childhood obesity problem we have in America. It was a really good documentary. You can find out more at SuperSizeMe.com.

I've seen SuperSize Me a few times... the first time, I didn't eat fast food for MONTHS afterwards. I still find it rather disturbing... did you watch the special features?? He puts a bunch of products in jars to see how they decompose... it's rather interesting.
