Happy New Year!
I'm going to do the obvious and state my New Year's resolutions here on my blog. Hey - I'm probably more likely to stick to them if they are in writing for all to see, right?
Number one on my list this year is to be more calm and patient with my kids and dog. And also to have more fun on a daily basis with them, even in our normal day to day schedule. I think that would help relieve stress in all areas of my life and force me to be more relaxed and slow down my pace.
Number two - to spend more quality time with my husband and try to schedule "date nights" regularly. This will mean finding a good babysitter, but our kids aren't babies anymore, so I'm not as worried about it as I used to be. We are better parents when we have some "down time" away from our children. I think all couples need time away to regroup. We've been feeling really burned out lately and I know my parenting skills are suffering because of it.
Number three - I won't be totally predictable and say "I want to lose weight" because that is what everyone says. I will continue with my walking routine of 3 miles at least 5 times a week. We are trying to eat better as a family also. I just want to be able to fit into all the clothes I already have - some of which have been a bit snug lately. That shouldn't be too hard to accomplish.
