Schedules
When the kids are on a break, it sure throws our schedules for a loop. I was hoping to catch up on sleep the past couple of weeks, since on school days we have to be at the bus stop by 7:10am. Our oldest daughter was great, sleeping in until 8:00 most mornings. Even our toddler slept a little later some days. But the puppy was another story.
She has been waking up at exactly 5:00am needing to go outside and wanting to eat her breakfast. Since we are still house training her, I can't make her wait or she will pee in her cage. If I wait to feed her, she just makes all kinds of noise scratching in her cage so we can't sleep anyway. So I just get up and feed her and let her out, then back in the cage for a couple of hours more sleep. During school, this schedule works pretty well, but on the weekends or on breaks it is not so fun. But I guess I can't expect a dog to know the difference between a weekday and a weekend, right? When she gets older she'll be able to sleep longer (I hope!).

I swear puppies are a lot like newborns! They demand a lot of time and attention! But - puppies do grow up into adult dogs much faster...so you'll be sleeping in again in no time I'm sure!
