It's no secret that Eureka Springs is a great area for motorcycle riding. You probably remember me blogging recently about how the online dating sites have become very segmented. I have reviewed sites called "Date a Millionaire", "Latino Friends", and "Jewish Dating". The latest dating site to hit the scene is for Christian Singles, which is geared to a specific group, but is still pretty general.

The site is laid out well and easy to navigate, but I found it interesting that the featured profile is "rebelgirl", who's picture shows her drinking what appears to be a huge beer mug at a bar. Maybe the message she wants to portray is "Although I am a Christian, I can still have fun!" If so, she is doing a great job. It looks like there are lots of members from all walks of life just looking for that special someone who shares their Christian beliefs and this is a good place to find that person.

Jewish dating

There seems to be a barrage of new dating sites out there lately, and the newest craze is to have sites geared toward a specific group. As you may remember, I recently wrote about a millionaire dating site. Well now I found a Jewish Singles site.

The site design is simple and easy to navigate. There are no ads anywhere on the site - that is a definite plus. Upon looking through the pages, I noticed that the sign-up page doesn't ask what your religion is. I guess they assume that if you would check out a Jewish dating site, either you are Jewish or want to date a Jewish person. In addition to the dating stuff, they have articles related to dating and being a single Jewish person.

According to the site, the first 5,000 members to sign up will get full access to all features for free. I'm not sure what happens after the first 5,000 spots are filled. Do all the other people have to pay for membership? Or do they get some free features and only have to pay to upgrade their membership? Right now, they only mention free membership for the first 5,000 members.

That Special Someone

As you all know, I am very happily married. I have reviewed some online dating sites that I found through PayPerPost for the benefit of our single friends. Well, I found a site with a different approach. They are a dating review site that lets you compare online dating services. The reviews are written by people who have actually used the services on different dating sites. I have written about a dating review site before, but the reviews were written by their employees, not actual clients.

I think reviews by the clients are the only way to get a true sense of a dating site. You want to know personal stories by people for whom the site worked, and the horror stories by people for whom the site failed. I think this service will do well to help a lot of people distinguish between all the many dating sites out there - so they can get on with meeting that special someone, and not waste their valuable time in this busy world.

Another dating website

Previously, I mentioned a website that is not a dating service in itself, but is a review of other online dating services. Well, tonight I saw this new Online Dating website advertised called IamFreeTonight.com and it had an interesting spin. They have a service where you can sign up a friend as your "wingman" and search for others who want to double date.

I think this is a neat idea since a lot of people are skeptical to go on blind dates and this way some of the pressure is alleviated. There is less chance of an "uncomfortable silence" with a group of at least 4 people and usually the date is a lot more lively and fun.

Another plus for IamFreeTonight.com is that all the services are completely free. You can also use a feature to find a date for a specific date or activity. You just post the day you are available and search the "date now" listings. I think I'll mention this one to my single friends to try out...

Speaking of online dating

In my last post, I was wondering if those online dating services really work for anyone. Then I came across this website with Dating Site Reviews . They are not a dating service themselves, but rather a list of all the dating sites out there and reviews of each site. It also shares very helpful tips about online dating.

The site is very straightforward and realistic. I like how they advise people to just be honest about themselves (their weight, their height, their kids, etc.) They also suggest talking to people you have an online relationship with over the phone. If they contradict anything they said online, confront them about it. This is very good advice. I think I will share this website with all our single friends...
